This yagya deepens and enhances our connection with each of the nine planets to promote balance and success in the coming year, leading to abundance and peace in life regardless of our external circumstances.

Navagraha Temple Yagya Series, January 19 - January 27 ($51)

We begin 2012 with a series of Navagraha (nine planet) temple yagyas to provide a long lasting and positive influence of balance and smoothness to our lives throughout the coming year.

These yagyas will be held over a nine day period in the part of southern Tamil Nadu famous for its temple devoted to the nine planets. The region is called Kumbakonam.

Each day the yagya will take place at a different temple appropriate to the day of the week, and will consist of an abishekam yagya in which liquid offerings (milk, sandal, oil, etc) are offered to the deity. We will perform yagyas in the Moon temple on Monday, Mars temple on Tuesday, etc. The series concludes with a large 10 priest fire yagya (havan).

Navagraha yagyas are especially important because they smooth out the effects of difficult planets like Rahu/Ketu and Saturn, all of which will have a renewed influence during 2012, especially Saturn. The yagyas also maximize the positive influence of benefic planets like Jupiter and Venus.

Pavamana Soma Yagya
January 27 ($21)

The yagya comes from the Rig Veda, the longest and most ancient of the Vedas. We have asssembled a uniquely qualified team of Rig Veda pundits who will be performing this yagya for us every month.

During the yagya the pundits begin with two hours of Rig Veda recitations. Then they will perform our usual schedule of pujas and yagyas; Ganesha, Navagraha, Lakshmi/Durga/Parvati, Mrytunjaya and Rudra Abishekam. Following that, the traditional Rig Veda Pancha Sukta Pavamana ritual will be performed with the mantras and offerings specific to this sacred ritual.

Starting with this month, we are offering this yagya as a part of our monthly 10 day of Group Yagyas. We will conclude the series in December with a full 10 days of Pavamana Soma Yagyas.

Traditionally, this yagya series is performed in order to remove any bad karmas created during this lifetime, and to support the development of our nervous system so that it support enlightened consciousness and divine awareness.
