Subramanyam Temple Yagya ($51) |
Subramanyam is son of Shiva and Parvati and the brother of Ganesha. He is symbolic of the dynamic, focused, and active principle of nature, which is also manifest in the planet Mars. He is the celestial general, protecting those who follow a spiritual path, and fighting to replace darkness with light. Without a positive Mars/Subramanyam we would not have the inclination or determination to pursue a path of spiritual inquiry. Subramanyam combines his father Shiva's capacity for destruction with his mother Parvati's compassion and can, when in balance, be a positive force of change. When obstructed he breaks through all obstacles to clear the way for progress to new levels of enlightenment and peace. We are performing a special three part Subramanyam yagya on August 16th and on August 23 to balance the manifestation of Mars/Subramanyam in our lives. The benefits of this yagya are renewed strength and focus, balanced energy, and inner motivation for growth. The morning events on both days will consist of a five priest, five hour series of pujas and fire yagya (homam). In the evening of the 16th, our priests will travel to a temple in the countryside near Kanchipuram and perform a 3 hour abishekam at a Subramanyam temple. As usual we will provide participants with a video tape of the event. Please click here for more details on Subramanyam and this yagya. |

Two day Lakshmi and Ganesha Yagya ($51) For the Creation of Abundance and Prosperity
and the Removal of Obstacles |
On the first day of the two day yagya, our priests will perform a full routine of Vedic pujas and homams (fire yagya) for Lakshmi to enhance our enjoyment of abundance and both inner and outer wealth. Because this yagya takes place on a Friday, the planet Venus is also balanced and strenghtened. On the second day (Saturday), the focus is on Ganesha who removes all obstacles to the full enjoyment of life. The priests perform a full Ganesha Yagya as well as a yagya for Saturn who rules Saturdays. Combined, these two yagya days create a continuing influence that encourages the resolution of problems, removes obstacles, and adds wealth and fulfillment in all its various forms; material and spiritual. The two day series is the monthly yagya for those who subscribe to yagyas on an on-going basis. |
To enhance strength, courage, decisiveness, devotion and enlightenment. |
We continue our series of yagyas in the ancient temples surrounding Kanchipuram. This month we are performing our yagya at a special Subramanyam temple dedicated to the form of the divine which represents the warrior who protects those who pursue spirituality, removes darkness and obstacles to bring success, optimism, brilliance, protection and peace. The yagya honors Subramanyam, the brother of Ganesha and son of Shiva and Parvati who was renowned for his courage and strength, and also for his devotion and purity of heart. The results of the yagya will be the enhancement and strengthening of those qualities in our own lives. With the astrological combination of Mars, Saturn, and Ketu in effect through late fall of 2005, the balance, peace and protection of Subramanyam is very desirable. As usual we have arranged for the temple yagya to be video taped and participants will receive a 30-45 minute CD video of the event. This yagya can be combined with the morning 5 hour Subramanyam/Mars yagya for a full day of morning and evening yagyas. To participate in the combined yagyas please use the button at the top of this page. |
