On each of 11 days (including the day and night of Shivaratri), 11 Vedic priests will perform this ancient ritual to increase our participants' personal power, prosperity, and inner peace. This yagya is unmatched in its ability to bring long lasting material and spiritual fulfillment into your life. The yagya takes place for 4-5 hours each morning for 11 days during which Rudra Abishekam is performed 11 times by pouring 11 traditonal ingredients over the Shiva lingam while the Yajur Veda mantra called Rudram is chanted. This is followed by the recitation of Chamakam, another hymn from Yajur Veda which asks for every form of blessing from Shiva. To complete each day, Rudra homam (fire ceremony) is performed (see photos above). Rudram is chanted on our behalf a total of 1,331 times during this yagya. This year as we have for the past 3 years, we have the pleasure of working with a group of exceptionally qualified priests from Kanchipuram; a famous temple town about 1 hour from Madras. It is said that there are over 1,000 Shiva temples (lingams) in Kanchipuram. We could not ask for a better place or more experienced, dedicated group to perform this yagya for us. Please join as a sponsor and experience the power, joy, and blessings this yagya will bring into your life. |
