| 3 day Annapurna Goddess Yagya Kanchipuram is widely known as a center for the goddesses and the main temple for Kamakshi Devi is radiant with the presence of the Divine Mother. As we have for the past three years, our special yagyas at this time of year recognize and support the Vedic tradition in the spirit of our western holidays of giving. The first two days, we go to the three main patasalas, (centers of learning) where young boys are being trained to become Brahmin Priests. At each facility we arrange for a special yagya to be performed for Shiva and Annapurni (the goddess of food), the special form of Parvati, the Divine Mother who feeds all. Appropriately, a sumptuous meal is served and we present each boy with a fresh new cotton dhoti. Last year we fed and clothed almost 200 individuals. In the evening of each day our priests go to local temples, one for Annapurni (Parvati), one for Saraswati, and one for Lakshmi, to perform special pujas and on the last evening a full scale abishekam with all of the traditional ingredients. The Vedic tradition holds that we should give that which we wish to receive. This form of service is called Anna Danum; the gift of food. Our experience is that the recognition and appreciation we provide for these young men as they continue their training in the Vedas is inspiring and supportive, particularly coming as it does, from a group of mostly westerners. According to the Vedas, the benefits of this yagya are to never go hungry in this life or the next, to enjoy greater peace of mind, the development of insight, and an increased capacity for fullness and enjoyment. These are the blessings of the goddess; Annapurni, Lakshmi and Saraswati. |

This yagya will give those who don't have the funds to participate in the full scale Annapurni yagya an opportunity to take part. Each evening during the three day period, the priests will perform pujas and a full scale abishekam yagya on the last day. The yagya enhances peace and harmony between husband, wife, children and other family members of all generations. It develops and protects smoothness in our external circumstances and enhances enjoyment and our ability to live in balance and harmony. It is a gentle yagya that combines the protection of Vishnu with the fullness and abundance of Lakshmi. As with all Vedic technologies, repetition is key to the development of strength and effectiveness. The repetition of this yagya on a monthly basis develops depth of experience resulting in greater power and longer lasting results from the yagya. |

2 Day Ganesha and Lakshmi Foundation Yagya ($51) |

This is the basic yagya for our monthly subscription series; one full day of yagyas for Ganesha and one for Lakshmi. These two yagyas (particularly when repeated monthly) result in the development of a strong and continued experience of spiritual protection and abundance. These yagyas are highly recommended for enhancing and deepening the effects of the other yagyas in the monthly series. They are called foundation yagyas because it is difficult to imagine what problems could not be solved if a few obstacles were removed (Ganesha) or we had either more physical resources, or a greater sense of satisfaction and abundance (Lakshmi). |

The nine planets deliver our karmas to us, and we can greatly smooth our life experience through a planetary yagya. As a remedial method, planetary yagyas have the advantage of providing balance; the effects of the beneficial planets are strengthened and the malific planets are moderated. Everyone goes through difficult times and these yagyas facilitate the resolution of difficult karmas and remove obstacles to our general success in life. They are supportive and life affirming yagyas that remove the sometimes overwhelming weight of difficult circumstances. Since difficult times develop slowly, it must be expected that they will dissipate gradually, so best results are obtained by 3+ months of participation. This yagya covers all nine planets in one five hour day of yagyas. Mrytunjaya and Rudra Abishekam Yagya ($37) |

This yagya offers assistance with a wide variety of problems; overall peace of mind, spiritual progress, and health or transitions. The yagya combines Ayush Yagya for long life with the Mrytunjaya Yagya for removal of fear. Mrytunjaya yagyas are also good for providing spiritual support for health problems. This yagya is for Shiva, who wears the Moon in his hair and so, as the ultimate ruler of the planets, it is also good for balancing the effects of all planets particularly Moon/Saturn. This yagya is repeated twice monthly; once in India and once in the US. Participants are automatically enrolled in both yagyas. |

Subramanyam Yagya ($37) |

This month is a special one for Subramanyam because of the yagya series at the great Subramanyam temple in Tiruchendur. So there will first be a yagya at the temple which is followed by another yagya in Kanchipuram a few days later. Participants in this yagya area automatically enrolled in both yagya days. Subramanyam is Ganesha's brother and the younger son of Shiva. He is regarded as the "Divine General" and embodies the energy of Mars which when properly channeled gives rise to positive action, enthusiastic energy, optimism, and success. This yagya is particularly useful when times are difficult and you need a physical and mental energy boost to meet life's challenges. It is also good for those who have kuja dosa (Mars affliction) in their astrological charts as it will help to balance and harmonize interpersonal relationships. |

Sudarshana and Narasimha Yagya ($37) |

Sudarshana is Vishnu's weapon (a disc of light) and this yagya is used to remove severe or stubborn obstacles. It is particularly effective for those who are faced with conflicts, lawsuits, and specific or severe forms of opposition or troubles. Narasimha is the incarnation of Vishnu who also helps to remove obstacles, and specifically protects and enhances family harmony. The Sudarshana and Narasimha yagyas are always performed together with a Lakshmi yagya. So it is a very effective "all purpose" yagya. |

Dakshinamurti is a special form of Shiva in the role of teacher, or revealer of inner truth. It is an excellent yagya for those wanting to enhance and deepen their inner experiences through meditation, mantra japa or other spiritual practices. Ganesha Yagya ($37) |

Ganesha is Vigneshwara; the lord of obstacles. He removes the obstacles which hinder our progress towards spiritual and material success. A Ganesha yagya is light and enjoyable and result in an increasing sense of support and protection. The obstacles that Ganesha removes are not only material. the Vedic tradition considers Ganesha to be equally adept at removing the obstacles to our spiritual progress. Generally, long-term participants report that while problems in life don't completely disappear, effective and appropriate solutions arise more readily and are implemented with little resistance. This yagya is often combined with the Lakshmi yagya (see above) because the combination of Ganesha and Lakshmi helps develop a balance between material and spiritual success. |

Personal Yagya (3 hours/1 priest) ($75) |

A personal yagya is similar to a private yagya, the difference being that it is a little shorter and is performed by one priest rather than five. It is intended to be easier to afford, particularly since it is most effective when repeated over a 3+ month period of time. These yagyas can be very powerful, but the effects build gradually. On your yagya day, your personal priest begins with a series of pujas (Ganesha, Kalasha, and Navagraha) followed by a fire yagya (homam). A private yagya consists of a full day's dedicated effort on your behalf. Five of our most experienced priests will perform 5 hours of pujas and mantra japa followed by a full 1 to 2 hour fire yagya (homam). The focus of a private yagya can be particularly instrumental in lightening a difficult trend in life, solving a specific problem, removing a troublesome obstacle, or of dramatically deepening one's spiritual practices and experience of divinity. On the day of your yagya, the priests begin by performing a series of pujas followed by 1008 japa repetitions of the mantra most appropriate for providing assistance from a spiritual perspective. This is followed by the the full 1 to 2 hour fire yagya (homam) featuring an additional 1008 mantra repetitions with the traditional offerings of ghee, herbs, special woods, grains, fruits and nuts into the yagya fire. Those who comit to the purchase of a private yagya for at least six months are included in the full yagya schedule during each month.
