Jupiter (Guru in Sanskrit) is the planet of luck, spirituality, and success. Traditionally, the time that a planet is changing signs is the best time to strengthen its influence and Jupiter is moving from Scorpio to Saggitarius later this month.

In addition, this is the month that Chat Puja and Surya Shasti Yagyas are performed on the banks of the Ganges in Varanasi. So we want to take advantage of this opportunity to add strength to both these planets.

Shiva as Dakshinamurti is the deity form of Guru and this yagya is focused on both of these manifestations in order to develop more of those desirable qualities.

From the perspective of Jyotish and the vedic tradition, a strong Sun and Jupiter are the foundation of both spiritual and material accomplishments since they are both the most satvic (pure) and poswerfully positive planets. Their strength diminishes any negative influences from other planets such as Saturn and Rahu/Ketu.

This yagya will include a full scale Shiva temple abishekam yagya on November 16th.

Dhanvantri is the form of Vishnu as the physician; protector of health. This yagya is performed to protect good health, improve poor health, and to bring strength and vitailty to life.

Divali (or Dipavali) is a special time of light for Lakshmi, because we all want her support and presence in our lives. So we follow the day of Dhanvantri with an evening yagya for Lakshmi during which 1008 ghee lamps are lit for Lakshmi; one for each of the mantras in the Lakshmi Sahasranam.

Dhanvantri lived in Varanasi, and so the yagya takes place on the "birthday" (jayanti) of Dhanvantri in both Varanasi and Kanchipuram.

Mrytunjaya yagyas offer participants assistance with a wide variety of problems; overall peace of mind, spiritual progress, and health or life transitions.  Ayush yagya is for full life and Mrytunjaya yagya is for the removal of all kinds of fear.  Mrytunjaya yagyas are also good for providing spiritual based support for health problems.  This yagya is for Shiva who wears the Moon in his hair and so, as the ultimate ruler of the planets, Mrytunjaya is good for balancing the effects of all planets particularly the Moon and Saturn (especially during Sade Sati).

This yagya is repeated several times each month in India and once in the US.  Participants are automatically enrolled in all yagyas.

Subramanyam Yagya ($37)

Subramanyam embodies the energy of Mars which when properly channeled gives rise to positive action, enthusiastic energy, optimism, and success. This yagya is particularly useful when times are difficult and you need a physical and mental energy boost to meet life's challenges.  It is also good for those who have kuja dosa (Mars affliction) in their astrological charts as it will help to balance and harmonize interpersonal relationships.

Although not as widely known as some deities outside India, Subramanyam is the brother of Ganesha and the younger son of Shiva.  In the Vedic Tradition he is regarded to be the "Divine General" because of his courage and leadership abilities.

Sudarshana and Narasimha Yagya ($37)
Wednesday, November 21

Sudarshana yagya is used to remove severe or stubborn obstacles.  It is particularly effective for enhancing the strength and power of those who are faced with conflicts, lawsuits, and specific or severe forms of opposition or troubles.  Sudarshana is Vishnu's weapon; a disc of light.

Narasimha yagyas help to remove obstacles and specifically protects and enhances family harmony.

The Sudarshana and Narasimha yagyas are always performed together with the addition of a Lakshmi yagya.  These are very effective "all purpose" yagyas for removal of obstacles, the promotion of harmony and the growth of a sense of abundance in our life experience.

2 Part Shiva (Dakshinamurti) Spiritual Enlightenment Yagya ($37)

This is an excellent yagya to enhance and deepen the inner experience of meditation, mantra japa or other spiritual practices.  The yagya removes obstacles on the path to enlightenment and enhances the natural development of jnana (higher knowledge).  Dakshinamurti is the form of Shiva in the role of teacher, or revealer of inner truth. This yagya is particularly effective when combined with the Mrytunjaya yagya series.

From an astrological perspective, this yagya will enhance and balance the effects of Jupiter (Guru) in an individual's life. 

2 Day Goddess Yagya - Durga, Saraswati, and Lakshmi ($51)

The three goddesses (Durga, Saraswati, Lakshmi) promote happiness, peaceful life and abundance in all forms, as well as the development of insight, wisdom and enlightenment.  This yagya promotes their assistance in helping us fulfill our desires and finding the inner peace and contentment that makes living enjoyable. Durga, the Divine Mother, enhances purity and individual strength. Saraswati is the goddess of wisdom and spiritual insight.  Lakshmi is the goddess of abundance in all forms, material and spiritual.

A Ganesha yagya is light and enjoyable and results in a sense of support and protection.  Long-term participants report that while problems in life don't completely disappear, effective and appropriate solutions arise more readily and are implemented with little resistance. Ganesha is Vigneshwara; the lord of obstacles who removes anything that hinders our progress towards increasing spiritual and material success. 

This yagya is often combined with Lakshmi and Navagraha foundation yagyas (see above) because the combination of Ganesha and Lakshmi yagyas develop a balance between material and spiritual success which is supplemented by the balancing influence of the Navagraha yagya.

Navagraha yagyas facilitate the resolution of difficult karmas and remove obstacles to our general success in life.  They are supportive and life affirming and can lighten the sometimes overwhelming weight of difficult circumstances.   Since difficult times develop slowly, it must be expected that they will dissipate gradually. Best results are obtained through repeated participation in this yagya (and ideally the foundation yagyas) over time.

This yagya covers all nine planets in one five hour day of yagyas.  If you would like more focus on a particular planet(s), then we recommend the Personal or Private Yagyas which will provide several hours of focused pujas, mantra japa, and a fire yagya at modest cost.

Satyanarayana Yagya - ($37)

Small Personal Yagya (2-3 hours/1 priest) ($75)

A small personal yagya is similar to a private yagya, the difference being that it is performed by one priest rather than five.  This form of yagya is intended to assist individuals who wish to address a specific area of concern either through several consecutive days of yagya or a single day repeated over a number of months. These yagyas can be very powerful because of the focused and dedicated nature of the performance.

On your yagya day, your personal priest begins with a series of pujas (Ganesha, Kalasha, and Navagraha) followed by puja and mantra japa for your choice of planet or deity.  This is followed by a fire yagya (homam) that repeats the sequence of pujas.

Private Yagya (5 hours/5 priests) ($300)

A private yagya consists of a full day's dedicated effort on your behalf.  Five of our most experienced priests will perform 5 hours of pujas and mantra japa followed by a full 1 to 2 hour fire yagya (homam).

The focus of a private yagya can be particularly instrumental in lightening a difficult trend in life, solving a specific problem, removing a troublesome obstacle, or of dramatically deepening one's spiritual practices and experience of divinity.  A no-charge jyotish consultation is available to assist you in the selection of the most appropriate and beneficial yagyas. On the day of your yagya, the priests begin by performing a series of pujas followed by 1008 japa repetitions of the mantra most appropriate for providing assistance from a spiritual perspective.  This is followed by the the full 1 to 2 hour fire yagya (homam) featuring an additional 1008 mantra repetitions with the traditional offerings of ghee, herbs, special woods, grains, fruits and nuts into the yagya fire.

Those who commit to the purchase of a private yagya for at least six months are included in the full yagya schedule during each month.  In addition to the 1 day private yagya, you are included as full sponsors for the 10 day yagya series at no additional charge.  The private yagya can change on a month to month basis.  The only requirement is the minimum six month term.
