Dhanvantri and Lakshmi Yagya |

Dhanvantri and Lakshmi 10 Day Yagya Series In the traditional vedic stories, Dhanvantri is the form of the divine who emerges from the churning of the ocean of milk, holding the nectar of immortality. He represents the healing and protective qualities of Vishnu as the physician; protector of health. This yagya is performed to protect good health, improve poor health, and to bring strength and vitailty to life. Of course Lakshmi always accompanies Vishnu, and emerged from the ocean of milk just before Dhanvantri, so we include her in all of this yagya as well. As the old saying goes, "health is wealth". The yagya series will consist of 2 hours of daily Sama Veda recitation, followed by 5 hours of daily pujas and homam (fire yagya) for all 10 days including the final 3 days of temple yagyas for both Vishnu and Lakshmi. |

The evenings will feature a temple yagyas (abishekam) with all the traditional ingredients of water, milk, curd, fruit, honey, rose water, coconut juice, turmeric, and sandal wood.
