Shiva/Shakti Yagya (10/13)
Ancestor (Pitra Paksha) Yagya (10/14)
Ganga Yagya (10/15)
Soma Yagya (10/22)

10 Priest Yagyas to ensure the spiritual and material support of previous family generations
on the Ganges River in Varanasi - the sacred city of Shiva and Parvati, October 13 thru 15 & 22 - ($51)

This time of year is a special time for the performance of ancestor yagyas (Pitra Paksha), especially in Varanasi, Northern India. These traditional yagya rituals are performed each year to ensure ongoing spiritual and material support for previous generations of our families.

We are fortunate to have 10 experienced and specially trained pundits who will perform these yagyas for you and your family. The first 3 days of the yagya program will be performed in Varanasi, on the banks of the sacred Ganges river, traditionally the home of Shiva and Parvati. The final day's Soma Yagya will be performed in Kanchipuram.

We begin with the Shiva/Shakti yagya to invoke the spiritual power of enlightenment and liberation from the cycle of rebirth. This is followed by a full day of traditional Ancestor Yagyas. The traditional story of Ganga is that she originally came down to earth to bring purity and to wash away all ignorance of our own divine nature. So it is fitting that the series concludes with a soothing yagya for Ganga - the divine form of the river itself, and symbol of purity and liberation for all generations. Lastly, we perform the traditional Pavamana Soma Yagya from the Rig Veda in Kanchipuram.

The Vedas emphasize the importance of family and speak of how yagyas benefit previous generations who, in turn, support us with their blessings.  Please join us!

Navaratri - Nine Nights for the Divine Mother
Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswati

Full 11 Day Program - ($51)
Navaratri (Oct 15 - 23), Ganesha Yagya (Oct. 14) and Vijaya Dashami (Oct. 24)

Navaratri is one of our most elaborate yagya series. It invokes the blessings of the Divine Mother in the form of Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati for the purpose of gaining strength (Durga), prosperity (Lakshmi) and wisdom (Saraswati).

Each day of the yagya series, our priests perform an elaborate Chandi (shakti or goddess) yagya for 5-6 hours in the morning, followed by 2 hours of evening pujas in which the entire Chandi Path text is recited along with the 1008 name (sahasranam) of Lalitha; the most beautiful form of the goddess.

The effect of these rituals is generally experienced as enlivened awareness, reduction of obstacles, greater joy and contentment in life, and a deeper connection to transcendent spirituality.

We are extending the usual 9 days of Navaratri by including a full day for Ganesha before Navaratri starts, and special pujas for Saraswati who is honored on Vijaya Dashami; the day of victory on October 6th. In addition, our priests will perform the Rig Veda Pavamana Soma yagya on October 22nd.
