Twelve Day Lakshmi Yagya for Family Prosperity and Harmony - May 16 - 27
($65 for the entire family)

Our yagya program this month is intended to strengthen family ties, reduce tensions, and support long term health, success, prosperity, and of course, enlightenment for everyone in our family.

Traditionally, there are eight forms of Lakshmi which when taken together represent all forms of success and abundance in life.

Adi Lakshmi - the first and most fundamental form of Lakshmi who embodies all others
Dhana Lakshmi - Lakshmi who gives money and gold
Dhanya Lakshmi - Lakshmi of food and grain
Gaja Lakshmi - Lakshmi who protects wealth and gives the power of royalty
Santana Lakshmi - Lakshmi who gives children and protects the family
Veera Lakshmi - Lakshmi who gives courage and overcomes obstacles
Vijaya Lakshmi - Lakshmi who gives victory in all forms
Vidya Lakshmi - Lakshmi who gives knowledge and bestows enlightenment

This month our program seeks to enliven the calm, sweet and generous side of the goddess in the eight different forms of Lakshmi, the goddess of abundance. Our yagyas will be performed in a temple that features an individual area for each of the eight (ashta) forms of Lakshmi.

In addition, we also include our two day, 50 priest Lakshmi Yagya in Pune, India on the 16th and 17th for a total of twelve days of yagyas.

Participants in our yagya programs report that they enjoy a sense of protection from the usual ups and downs of daily life. Obstacles seem to be reduced, problem solutions are available, and overall prosperity, abundance and enjoyment of life is increased.

Akshaya Tritiya is a special day in the vedic calendar. Akshaya means never diminishing in sanskrit. Undertakings that are begun on this day enjoy a little boost to their success. The purchase of gold, jewelry, land or other valuables is auspicious as are charitable donations. Simply stated, it is a day of lasting success.

Historically, this is the day that Ganesha and Rishi Vyasa began writing down the epic called The Mahabharata.

This is the day that the historcial period called Treta Yuga began during which Rama and Sita were present.

This is the day when the Ganges descended from heaven to purify the earth. It is the day when Parvati, Shiva's wife, emerged in the form of Anapurni- the goddess of food and nourishment.

Akshaya Tritiya is the day when Vishnu took the form of his 6th incarnation as Parashurama.

In Kanchipuram, where we perform our yagyas, this was the day when Adi Shankara, a great saint, wrote the Kanaka Dhara Stotram which brings wealth to those who recite it.

It is a day full of the blessings of Lakshmi, the source of abundance. We're going to enjoy her presence throughout the our yagya series this month.
