Every December we complete the year with a focus on the family by offering a series of special temple yagyas. This year we have selected ten unique temples in Kanchipuram and additional temple yagyas in Pune and Varanasi. Each temple has a unique history and story.
We call this our Sarva Devata yagya program because it invokes all the gods and goddesses (sarva = all, devatas = gods and goddesses). This series deepens our spiritual connection to the divine and in a practical sense, strengthens family ties, reduces tension among family members, and supports long term health, success, prosperity, and of course, spiritual progress throughout the upcoming year.
Each day, the program will feature a different yagya for a different aspect of divine intelligence according to the list below.
In addition, we are including 30 days of Abundance Yagyas through Jan 15th, because we all need the support of Lakshmi to enjoy a fulfilling life with everything we want and need. The Abundance series includes a month of the following:
Daily Rudra Abishekam for peace and contentment
Daily Navagraha/Nakshatra to balance the planets
Daily Lakshmi Sri Suktam and Kanakadhara Suktam for financial abundance and freedom
Ganesha on four Saturdays to remove obstacles
Chandi Path/Durga Saptashati on Sun/Mon/Tues to eliminate obstacles to progress through enhanced personal power
The Kanchipuram Temple Yagyas will feature the following:
1. Ganesha - to remove obstacles
2. Shiva and Parvati - The Divine Couple who promote a happy family life, good health and rapid progress towards enlightenment
3. Saraswati- This yagya promotes the power of wisdom, intellectual and artistic talent, and a deeper appreciation of spirituality
4. Vishnu - for health and and the protection of the family
5. Lakshmi - for all aspects of wealth and abundance
7. Navagraha (nine planets) and Rahu/Ketu- for balance and elmination of negative karmas.
8. Durga - the powerful form of the goddess
9. Hanuman - the perfection of strength and devotion
10. Subramanya - the divine form of Mars, the planet of action and strength
The Pune region is near Mumbai and will feature these temples:
1. Maha Baleshwar Shiva temple with a 6 foot tall lingam
2. Bhuleshwar Shiva temple with a Ganesha wearing female attire and called Ganeshwari
3. Khandoba Shiva Temple with a fierce form of Shiva who has a special dog
Full details and history of these temples will be elaborated in the next newsletter.
We are hoping to add three more temple yagyas in Varanasi but details are unavailable at this time.
Participants in these yagya programs report that they enjoy a sense of protection from the obstacles and usual ups and downs of daily life. Obstacles seem to be reduced and overall prosperity, abundance and enjoyment of life in general, and specifically family life is improved |
