Ganesha plays a major role in our enjoyment of life through removing obstacles to our material and spiritual success.
This year with Saturn retrograde until late November obstacles abound and we are using 10 days of 6 priest Ganesha yagyas followed by daily Saturn yagyas through the beginning of Navaratri on October 3rd to address the need for some relief.
Ganesh (or Vinayaka) Chaturthi on September 7th celebrates his birthday and it is at this time he is traditionally most receptive to yagya offerings and showers his blessings most freely. This year we have purchased 108 individual Ganeshas to be used in this year's yagya.
The purpose of these yagyas is to promote the enjoyment of a satisfying and enlightened life. Ganesha is the foundation of that process because he removes any obstacle that obstructs fulfillment and progress toward liberation.
