Special Vinayaka Chaturthi Temple Abishekam To remove obstacles over the coming year. |
The opportunity for this yagya comes only once each year, and it is at this time that Ganesha is considered to be easiest to reach. In a traditional culture this time of the year is just before harvest and one would want to make certain there are no obstacles to success. It is also just before Jupiter changes signs each year, and because Jupiter is the strongest benefic planet who brings both wealth and spirituality to the world. This yagya is also intended to remove obstacles, and strengthen Jupiter's influence throughout the coming year. This yagya will consist of a full abishekam yagya and will be performed in a lovely Ganesha temple near Seetharam's home in Bangalore. To the extent the temple will allow, he's promised to take photos for us. |

Guru (Jupiter) and Navagraha To enhance strength, courage, decisiveness, devotion and enlightenment. |
We continue our series of yagyas in the ancient temples surrounding Kanchipuram. This month we are performing our yagya at a wonderful navagraha temple. The yagya is directed to Guru (Jupiter) at a significant time because he is making the change from the sign of Kanya (Virgo) to Tula (Libra). By tradition this is the time when yagyas are particularly effective for adding strength to the benefit, protective and spiritual expressions of Jupiter in our personal jyotish charts. In addition the yagya will include the other planets so that the yagya has a comprehensive balancing effect. With the astrological combination of Mars, Saturn, and Rahu/Ketu in effect through late fall of 2005, the balance, peace and protection of this yagya is a very good idea. As usual we have arranged for the temple yagya to be video taped and participants will receive a 30-45 minute CD video of the event. This yagya can be combined with the morning 5 hour Saturn/Jupiter yagya for a full day of morning and evening yagyas. Participants is either the morning or evening yagyas on the 17th will automatically be included in the 5 hour Moon yagya on the 19th. Two day Lakshmi and Ganesha Yagya ($51) For the Creation of Abundance and Prosperity
and the Removal of Obstacles |
On the first day of the two day yagya, our priests will perform a full routine of Vedic pujas and homams (fire yagya) for Lakshmi to enhance our enjoyment of abundance and both inner and outer wealth. Because this yagya takes place on a Friday, the planet Venus is also balanced and strengthened. On the second day (Saturday), the focus is on Ganesha who removes all obstacles to the full enjoyment of life. The priests perform a full Ganesha Yagya as well as a yagya for Saturn who rules Saturdays. Combined, these two yagya days create a continuing influence that encourages the resolution of problems, removes obstacles, and adds wealth and fulfillment in all its various forms; material and spiritual. The two day series is the monthly yagya for those who subscribe to yagyas on an on-going basis. |
