Subramanyam is son of Shiva and Parvati and the brother of Ganesha.  He is symbolic of the dynamic, focused, and active principle of nature, which is also manifest in the planet Mars.  He is the celestial general, protecting those who follow a spiritual path, and fighting to replace darkness with light.  Without a positive Mars/Subramanyam we would not have the inclination or determination to pursue a path of spiritual inquiry.

Subramanyam combines his father Shiva's capacity for destruction with his mother Parvati's compassion and can, when in balance, be a positive force of change.  When obstructed he breaks through all obstacles to clear the way for progress to new levels of enlightenment and peace.

We are performing a special four part Subramanyam yagya on June 3 through 6 to balance the manifestation of Mars/Subramanyam in our lives, particularly at this time when Mars and Saturn will be combing their energies in the sign of Cancer.  The benefits of this yagya are personal protection, balance, renewed strength and focus, and inner motivation for growth. 

The first 3 days will take place in a very nice Subramanyam temple in Bangalore.  Each day the priests will go to the temple to perform a full yagya.  The first day will be a fire yagya with all the traditional ingredients only available in India.  The second day will be the traditional abishekam with cool and soothing liquid offerings poured over the deity.  The third day will feature the recitation of Subramanyam Sahasranam with the offering of a lotus flower with each of the 1008 mantras.  Finally, on the last day, our priests will return to our own yagya facility and perform a full puja, abishekam, and homam to complete the 4 day cycle.

As always, we will take video of the temple portion of the events.  About 45 days after the event a video CD will be mailed to each participant along with yagya ash as prasadam.

After three days of intensive temple yagyas, this performance will complete the yagya cycle at our own facility.  Our priests will perform a full set of pujas, abishekam, and homam over a 5 hour period.  It is the highlight of the month's focused yagya series.

Subramanyam is Ganesha's brother and son of Shiva.  He is regarded as the "Divine General" and embodies the energy of Mars which when properly channeled gives rise to positive action, enthusiastic energy, optimism, and success. 

This yagya is particularly useful when times are difficult and you need a boost to get through challenges.  It is also good for those who have kuja dosa in their astrological charts as it will help to balance and harmonize interpersonal relationships.

Sudarshana and Narasimha Yagya
Wednesday, June 7

Sudarshana is Vishnu's weapon (a discus of light) and this yagya is used to remove severe obstacles.  It is particularly effective for those who are faced with conflicts, lawsuits, and specific or severe forms of opposition or trouble.   

Narasimha is the incarnation of Vishnu who also helps to remove obstacles, and specifically protects family harmony.

Ganesha Yagya
Saturday, June 10

Ganesha is Vigneshwara; the lord of obstacles.  He removes the obstacles which hinder our progress towards spiritual and material success.  A Ganesha yagya is light and enjoyable and the results are an increasing sense of support and protection.

This yagya is frequently combined with the Lakshmi yagya (see above) because the combination of Ganesha and Lakshmi brings a greater balance between material and spiritual success.

Sunday, June 11 (Full Moon)

The yagya enhances peace and harmony between husband, wife, children and other family members.  It develops and protects smoothness in our external circumstances and enhances our enjoyment and ability to live in balance and harmony.  It is a gentle yagya that combines the protection of Vishnu with the fullness of Lakshmi.

As with all Vedic technologies, repetition is key to the development of strength and effectiveness.  The repetition of this yagya on a monthly basis develops depth of experience resulting in greater power and longer lasting results from the yagya.

This yagya offers assistance in dealing with a wide variety of problems.  It is good for overall peace of mind and enhances the spiritual progress of those who are focused on spiritual pursuits.  It is also very good for those who may have health problems because it combines Ayush Yagya for long life with the Mrytunjaya Yagya for removal of fear.  Traditionally mrytunjaya yagya is prescribed for those who are completing their lifetimes as it remove the fear of their transition from this world, although it is of benefit to anyone because of the peacefulness it generates.

7 Day Personal Yagya (1 hour daily/1 priest)

A personal yagya can be a very effective way of relieving a difficult trend in life, of enhancing a good trend, or of deepening one's spiritual practices and experience of divinity.

For 7 days, your own vedic priest performs a 1 hour daily puja and 1008 repetitions of the appropriate mantra to provide assistance from a spiritual foundation to help you accomplishing whatever goal you have in mind. 

On the 7th day he will join the group yagya and perform the full 5 hour yagya as your own private priest.

1 Day Private Yagya (5 hours/5 priests)

A private yagya consists of a full day's dedicated effort on your behalf.  Five of our most experienced priests will perform 2-3 hours of pujas and mantra japa on your behalf, followed by a full 1-2 hour fire yagya (homam).

The focus of a private yagya can be particularly instrumental in lightening a difficult trend in life, solving a specific problem, removing a troublesome obstacle, or of dramatically deepening one's spiritual practices and experience of divinity.

The priests will perform a full puja and 1008 mantra japa repetitions of the appropriate mantra to provide assistance from a spiritual foundation.  This is followed by the the full 1-2 hour fire yagya (homam) featuring an additional 1008 mantra repetitions with the traditional offerings into the yagya fire.

Those who purchase a private yagya are also included in the full yagya schedule during that month.  So in addition to the 1 day private yagya, they are also full sponsors of the 10 day yagya series at no additional charge.
