Yagya Schedule

August Special Yagyas
($35 for the entire family)
for
Solar Eclipse (8/1), Lunar Eclipse (8/16), Krishna Jayanti (8/24)

Eclipses are a special time for spiritual practices, particularly as it relates to the nine planets, and it is said that the effects of mantras are multiplied many many times. Some texts say each repetition during an eclipse is equal to one thousand any other time, and other texts say ten thousand! Regardless of which it is, this is a very valuable time.

We are going to take maximum advantage of this month in which there are both Solar and Lunar eclipses. On both eclipse days, our priests will be performing a long series of mantra japa repetitions (Navagraha, Rahu and Ketu, and Nakshatra mantras) for many hours.
Solar Eclipse (8/1)
Lunar Eclipse (8/16)

Krishna Jayanti, also known as Gokulashtami, is a special time that celebrates the birth of Krishna, one of the most important avatars of Vishnu the Protector. On this day, our priests perform a special Krishna/Vishnu yagya that includes the 1008 names of Vishnu (Vishnu Sahasranam) at our own facility and then travel to a local temple to perform the yagya again with liquid offerings, called Vishnu Abishekam.
